Personally, I wasn't available for the Saturday morning drive-in but the weather had been kind and all went well. The show, as usual, is a big draw for the Mall and people crowded in to shop and check out the cars. There were fewer cars this year because the Greenwood club had a previous engagement so couldn't make it. Therefore, all the cars, except for a couple put in by our Sponsor, Kari Morris, belonged to our own club members. All the cars looked great and many won awards but the People's Choice 1st place award went to one of our newest members, Connie Miller with her 1976 'Tweetie Bird', congratulations Connie and welcome to the club.
The weather, unfortunately, wasn't going to be so nice for getting the cars out. By the time the mall closed and we were ready to drive the cars home, rain had started to fall. Some of the members decided, with the kind permission of the Mall's staff, to keep their cars inside with the hope it would be better Monday evening. I was not one of those though, my car leaks some in heavy rain but I managed to get it home between the heavier showers and it didn't suffer too much. Nothing a good 'ol super soaker cloth couldn't fix.
So thanks goes to all those who helped set things up and organize the show, all the club members who brought their cars, and to the Mall for playing host. Until next year.....
