Hosted by the NCCC and Circle City Corvette Club this is a very nice annual event held in the beautiful setting of Brown County State Park. Around 80 cars turned out this year with 10 from our club. Nine of us met at the West Hill shopping center on 46 and cruised in over; Frazita, Money, Baker, Plumlee, Dewey, Benson, Roberts, Weber and ourselves. The Sandefur's came in a little later. The food was great with barbecue sandwiches, hotdogs, beans, chips and twinkies etc. and the poker-run drew in 36 participants. The only winner in our group was Doug & Genevieve Roberts who took 5th place. Unfortunately the weather wasn't going to be that good to us this year. A chill breeze convinced most people to wear heavy sweatshirts or jackets, it is definitely getting near the end of the season. And a light drizzle after lunch drove some folk away but it cleared up later. The best story of the day though goes to the Bakers. Deanna is not going to be left to forget this one. She had come down to the show in the their SUV, with the kids, and left as the rain started falling. Taking the keys to the Corvette with her! And to make it worse it was raining and a window was down on their ZO6. A temporary cover was made to keep the rain out and Steve called home to leave a message on their answering machine to have Deanna turn around and come back.
