The turn out was a little disappointing which just goes to show that rain dates don't work as well as the original. Anyway, nine cars from our club turned out giving us the club participation award which you can see Terry holding in a picture below.
The weather was great, for the most part and we managed to get most of our cars together in the shade. We were all having a good time until the black clouds rolled in. It started to look ominous after 1pm and a few wise people started moving towards their cars and putting tops up. This was good as just after the poker run started, at 2pm, so did the rain, and boy, did it rain! Fortunately I had put my top back on and was fairly close by when it started, I sat in the car for a while watching it pour down. Quite an interesting experience and I even took some video footage which should make an interesting addition to some later project. After 5 minutes of this I thought it wise to get out of the field before I got stuck so I gave up and drove home to get mine under cover.
The show organizer's had done a great job with music, food and drink in the covered picnic area, door prizes, 50/50 drawing and games for the kids. Let's hope that next year the weather is a little kinder to them.
Later I found out that in addition to the Club Participation award, Terry Robinholt and Connie Miller took away the trophies for their classes.
