Everyone should be very proud of what we accomplished
this weekend. I believe we went way beyond our goals for this years
show!
I wouldn't have enough room on this e-mail to list all
the wonderful comments that were made about our show and especially our
club, by all the participants, storeowners, the Mayor etc.
We also set a new club record in regards to signing up
new members during our two-day show. Sixteen new members signed up at
the show, plus we have 4 other possibilities. The week before the show
Bill West also signed up a new member.
We will have 17 new members to vote on at our May 5,
meeting.
Looks like we may have to negotiate the second room at the Sirloin
Stockade to handle our growing membership. This is a great problem to
have!
At the beginning of this year, I was hoping the club
could at least get back to the Sixty member mark by the end of the year.
I guess I don't have to worry any more. "Seventy" plus members
really does have a better ring to it! :-)
The only down side of the show, was the dollar amount
of contributions to our charities.
Last year we all came up with a figure of 9 years for the amount of
years the club has participated at the FairOaks mall. When we were
discussing it on Saturday morning, Ron Weber advised us that this year
should actually be the 11th year since the club started the event. Next
year we can advertise 12 years annual show. Thanks Ron!
Have a great week everybody!
