During a rain soaked month of May in Indianapolis, and a threat of more showers the club took to the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway for the annual Community Day. Thankfully the rain held off and the event stayed dry.
This event is put on every year before the running of the Indy 500 allowing the community the chance to drive their own
cars around the speedway. Drawback though, you must stay under 230mph!!!
Members of the Corvette Club of Columbus took to the Speedway to drive a lap around the famous 2 1/2 mile ovel track, under supervision of the
Speedway safety crews. This year we were joined by the Jackson County Cruisers from Seymour - They brought a good variety of cars including a Ferrari 355!
Thanks to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for putting this event together, also special thanks to mother nature for keeping the rain away. Also, thanks to all the members who participated.
